About Foothills Hardware

FHBS is owned and operated by Taylor Baker and his wife, Leah. Taylor is from Hayesville, North Carolina where he grew up working in his parent’s hardware store.

Taylor graduated from Guilford College in 2004 with a degree in business administration. He received his general contractor's license in 2022.

FHBS was purchased in 2015 from Ron Moorefield, the previous owner of Discount Builders Supply.

Prior to acquiring FHBS, Taylor worked for Orgill Inc., an international wholesale hardware distributor. Taylor was presented with the “Young Retailer of the Year” award by the National Retail Hardware Association in 2018. He and his wife have three children, Hallie, Polly, and Teddy. His wife, Leah, is a physician assistant at Atrium Health/Wake Forest Baptist.
